The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural
University (BSMRAU)
 is
committed to the policy of providing educational
opportunities to all qualified students regardless of
their economic or social status, and will not discriminate
on the basis of race, colour, sex, creed, age, marital
status or national origin.
The University was established in 1983 as Bangladesh
College of Agricultural Sciences and subsequently
developed into a postgraduate Institute named as
Institute of Postgraduate Studies in Agriculture (IPSA)
through the active collaboration and cooperation of the
Governments of Bangladesh, Japan, and U.S.A. In 1998 the
institute was converted into a full-fledged university. |

to our Website. The main intent of the website to explore
the information of academic, research, outreach, and technological
advancement of the university. The goal of the
university is to contribute to the growth and development of the farm
economy in Bangladesh by providing intellectual leadership and by
producing quality graduates in different fields of agriculture. The
University has strong programmes of postgraduate education and
research with an outreach programme designed to improve the economic
well-being of farmers and to accelerate rural development. |

The main objectives
of the University are:
To serve as a
"Center of Excellence" for agricultural education leading to B.S.,
M.S. and Ph.D degrees;
To conduct basic and applied research to support and
complement the national agricultural research system in
Bangladesh; and
To provide
facilities, information and programmes for in-service training and
outreach activities. |
