Student
Counseling |
|
The
Director (Student Welfare) provides counseling for
students, attends to various types of student welfare and
provides information related to student affairs. |
|
Student
Dormitory |
|
|
|
The student dormitory houses
about 260 students, out of which 180 for male students, 60
for female students and 20 for married students.
Accommodation for male, female and married students is
separate. Recently construction of a dormitory with a
capacity of 50 undergraduate students has been completed.
Since BSMRAU is a
residential University, every student is expected to stay
in the dormitory, subject to availability of
accommodation. Dining and recreational facilities,
including indoor games, daily newspapers, magazines and
audio visual equipment are available in the dormitory. The
Provost and Assistant Provost attend to the operation and
management of the dormitory matters. The rules and
regulation of the dormitory are available in the office of
the Provost.
Students are encouraged to
reside in the dormitory in order to take advantage of the
academic environment in the University campus. |

Bus
Service |
|
The
University provides daily bus service for the students to
and from BARI, BRRI and/or Joydebpur every day; and one
day (Friday) to DHAKA. |
|
Cafeteria |
|
A
cafeteria is available on the campus to supply wholesome
food at reasonable prices for students and staff.
|
|
Auditorium |
|
A
specious air-conditioned auditorium at BSMRAU with a
seating capacity of about 160 persons is in frequent use
by the faculty and students and for programmes of
professional societies and various organizations. |
|
Medical
Center |
|
A
medical center has
been established on the campus to meet the emergency needs
of both students and staff. |
|
Student
Financial Assistance |
|
|
|
Depending on the availability
of funds, a few merit scholarships are also provided. The
stipend and merit scholarships are awarded for a period of
one term and subject to renewal each term contingent upon
academic performance, and availability of funds. Financial
assistance is provided for not more than 18 months in case
of M. S. students and 36 months in case of Ph.D. students.
