Term and Credit |
|
|
|
An
academic year is divided into three academic terms namely
Autumn, Winter and Summer. Each academic term consists of
12 (twelve) effective weeks (working days only).
One lecture/contact hour in
each week during a term shall be considered as 1
(one)-credit hour. For laboratory classes 2 or 3 class
hours will be considered as one lecture hour. A course
having one lecture hour per week in a term shall be
considered as a one credit hour course.

Course-Credit System |
|
|
|
The course credit system
involves course work with regular class assignments and
the use of tests and examinations during and at the end of
each 12-week term. The term "course system" is used to
differentiate the teaching approach followed at BSMRAU
from one generally referred to as the "traditional
system." In the course system, subject matter is taught in
modules (courses) of reasonably homogeneous subject
matter. Students receive "credit" for successful
completion of each course taken during each academic term.
They also receive "grades" or "marks" for each of the
courses taken to indicate the extent of their mastery of
the subject matter taught in each respective course. |
|
|
|
Teaching of Courses |
|
|
|
Regular
faculty members of BSMRAU teach most of the courses.
However, as required from time to time, adjunct faculty1
members from other
academic assist them and research institutions, who are
actively involved in applied and basic research programs
in their respective fields.
The
postgraduate students work closely with well-trained
faculty members available at BSMRAU and with
teachers/scientists from other academic and/or national
research institutions.
1
Adjunct faculty means a person outside the University who
teaches course(s) and/or supervises students’ thesis
research with approval of the appropriate authority. |

academic regulations, which are in force, and
observing the procedures, which govern his or her
relations with BSMRAU. |
