STT 501 Methods of Statistics (3 cr):

Measures of central tendency and dispersion, basic concepts of probability, binomial, negative binomial, poison, normal, Chi square, Student's ‘T’, and ‘F’ distributions; non parametric statistics, Type I and Type II errors and tests of hypotheses, basics of analysis of variance, basics of correlation and regression analysis.

STT 505 Regression Analysis (3 cr):

Simple linear regression, multiple regression, stepwise regression, simple non Linear regression and analysis of covariance. (2 cr. theory + 1cr. practical).

STT 510 Design of Experiments (3 cr):

Analysis of variance. Multiple comparison procedures. Randomized complete and incomplete block designs; Latin square design, Factorial experiments; confounded designs; split plot designs, strip plot design.

STT 515 Data analysis by Microcomputers (3 cr):

Use of the Microcomputers in data analysis. The major emphasis is placed on learning to use selected highly appropriate software packages. Lecture 2 hours, laboratory 4 hours per week.

Simple random sampling, stratified random sampling, ratio and regression estimation, cluster sampling, systematic sampling, two stage cluster sampling, design of survey instruments.

STT 525 Multivariate Analysis (3 cr):

Multivariate normal distribution, multivariate analysis of variance, multivariate regression, multivariate tests, principal component analysis and discriminate analysis.
